“Color Through” - An Evening with the Davenport Chamber Players:

Join us for an evening of musical exploration inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon’s piano trio, “Color Through.” This concert is more than just a performance; it is an invitation to see beyond traditional boundaries of gender, background, and style, allowing you to connect with the music on a deeply personal level and draw your own conclusions. We will offer insights and context through brief conversations between pieces.

The program highlights a US premiere of Lisa Niemeier’s award-winning “Breaking Down the Walls” for cello and piano, as well as the NYS premiere of James Lee III’s compelling third piano trio, “Tones of Clay.” Weaving through these premieres are spiritual-infused works by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Florence B. Price, creating a rich tapestry of sound.
